The innovation process is now easier than ever...
We all know in an economic downturn that continuous business innovation is one of the keys to growth and profit. You only have to look at Apple, with it's iPod, iPhone and iPad to know how true this is.
But if you are not an 'Apple', if you do not have enormous R&D resources and if you are a smaller scale operation, then just how can you continuously innovate?
Well, one of the major resources in any business is it's people. They can also be the source of continuous innovation. Innovation can come in the form of products, services or indeed and less often understood, in the business process itself!
Bizzwork has in the past helped businesses to harness and 'tease out' some of this internal innovation. After all, the people closest to the business are often the ones who can identify gaps or opportunities for line extensions, or even just see a way of working smarter and at this time anyone of these innovations can be a game changer for the business.
We use our proprietary rotation method to get a group of internal people, no more than 20, together and in one fun filled hour they can produce a huge number of ideas surrounding a business problem, opportunity or initiative. It works on the basis of having 5 separate tables and each person having a passport to guide them around these tables. They will meet everyone at these tables in a series of 5 rotations, but the beauty is they will never meet the same person twice.
What's more they will experience the richness of working with different groups of people and therefore be able to spark off others as they work on idea generation.
Each table might have a separate problem or idea on it to begin with and then as the rotations start, the people at each table examine the problem and use post it notes to generate ideas about it. There are no bad ideas and this is a free flow of input without any analysis.
After a certain period, lets say 10 minutes, at that table we ring a bell and the participants, using their special passport, move on to the next table where they are faced with new people, new issues and a lot of the post it notes from the people before them. They either then make up new post its or develop an idea already there with an addition. In this way the whole process is entirely collaborative and additive. After 5 rounds the post its are all collected to grouped sorted and worked upon.
So the process is easy, fun and motivating for all the participants. If you would like to take advantage of this unique process then just email us info@bizzwork.com and we will be in touch to talk details and specifics!
