Thinking today of the people in Japan...

The tragedy unfolding in Japan is an incredible reminder of the amazing forces of Nature. Amidst all the chaos and carnage though I think the overwhelming impression one gets and gets from many different reports and localities, is of a race of people who have been drilled with a true national stoicism.

It is very humbling to witness especially as these brave people in this disaster are beset by every kind of privation and loss. Yet they seem to bear it with the resignation of a race which understands that the natural elements have somehow turned against them and will force them once again to rebuild in the face of it.

But unlike other disasters of recent times the Japanese people betray no real anguish of hair rending and chest beating and even when they cry on camera as it all gets too much to bear, they do it with a dignity which is awesome.

It is such an amazing irony, that today with all our technology, gadgets, electronics and communications wizardry we are able to witness, almost at first hand through the lenses of the people on the ground, the incredible power of that Tsunami wave annihilating all before it. But as you watch in shock as it tears through all our pathetic buildings and human material possessions nature shows us still who is the real 'boss' in our world.

Our thoughts are with all those poor people in Japan and we hope they will be able to recover from this crisis.
